Shoseien Garden

 

Shoseien is a garden of Higashihonganji Temple.But its concept is not based on Buddhist doctrine. The original idea in 1653 was to recreate the world of the ancient Chinese poet Tao Yuanming. Tao Yuanming is one of the pastoral poets, and many of his poems express the emotions of living next to nature.

This garden also does not add too much to the natural features such as the pond, trees, and grass.Therefore the garden make you feel the joy liveing next to nature.
